"A Great Value!"

The blue was not as dark as the picture.

I was looking at a few other guitars and was afraid I would have buyer's remorse. That quickly went away when I plugged in. I had been looking at the Epiphone Les Paul and a Fender.

It's very glossy and looks sharp.

I have not needed to contact Washburn at this point.

KISS FAN OR NOT, BUY THIS!!

I received this as a Christmas gift in 2006… I actually have 2 of them now, but that is beside the point! This is guitar is just full of quality from top to bottom. I have about 45 guitars in my collection from Gibson to Epi's to USA BC Rich, Charvel, ESP, and on and on…. I would put this up against nearly anything! It is kind of heavy (Les Paulish) which I really like! The neck is smooth. The Buzz Fieten tuning system is amazing and has to be used to fully hear the benefits.
In short, it is well worth this price and more! Even if you are not a fan of Paul's you will love the feel of this guitar! I have the Silver to black fades and they are beautiful!! Buy it up!!

DiMarzio DP103F PAF 36th Anniversary F-Spaced Pickup vs. Seymour Duncan STR52 Five-Two Telecaster Rhythm Single-Coil Pickup

DiMarzio DP103F PAF 36th Anniversary F-Spaced Pickup

DiMarzio DP103F PAF 36th Anniversary F-Spaced Pickup

What makes a great vintage humbucker? A soft magnetic field, sweet tone, a perfect balance between warmth and clarity, the ability to go from clean to distorted by pick attack alone. There are many pickups that capture some of these qualities, but we wanted to build them all into one pickup, and this is it. Totally redesigned for 2008, DiMarzio brings you the new DiMarzio PAF 36th Anniversary Model available in standard or F-spacing.

Partly based on the pickups in Larry DiMarzio’s own 1959 Les Paul and partly on their own patented technology, the PAF 36th Anniversary Model will perform equally well in the neck or bridge position, just as the best humbuckers from the ’50s did.

Recommended For: All positions

Tech Talk: There is no reference standard for the sound of a humbucker from the 1950s. All of them had variations in output and tone, and these differences could be quite large. Recently, we have focused our research on making pickups with warm highs and bright lows. This combination is only found in our favorite vintage humbuckers, and it’s really good for a pickup intended for both the neck and bridge positions. It allows the bass strings in the neck position to avoid muddiness, and the treble strings in the bridge position to be warm and not brittle.

Seymour Duncan STR52 Five-Two Telecaster Rhythm Single-Coil Pickup

Seymour Duncan STR52 Five-Two Telecaster Rhythm Single-Coil Pickup

Here’s how the Five-Two concept works: Seymour utilizes sand cast alnico 5 magnets on the three low strings. This adds more definition and punch to the bottom end. Seymour uses sand cast alnico 2 magnets on the three high strings. This gives the player a warm and smooth top end without sacrificing that great Tele “twang.” Tele players often complain that their low strings sound “mushy” and their high strings are too bright – especially in the bridge position. The Five-Two concept counteracts this phenomenon. If you look closely at the pickup, you can actually see the difference between the two magnet types. The result is an all-around, extremely well-balanced pickup. The Five-Two has traditional output and vintage appointments such as vulcanized fibre bobbins, formvar wire, a vintage magnet stagger and waxed cloth hookup cable. A custom bridge version is available for more output in the bridge position and a reverse wound, reverse polarity middle pickup can be used to create a hum-canceling effect when used together with the bridge or neck pickup.

Excellent value, very nice tone.

For the money, you cannot buy a better guitar. Nice jazzy tone, good workmanship, quality finish.

rick360/12byrdman from Woodbridge, VA (Sep 29, 2003)

i play funky/groovy/experimental/ambient indie rock with classic rock and heavy blues influence. basically its really cool indie rock thats pretty diverse. its kind of in the realm of portugal.the man, brand new, the blood brothers, etc.

anyway, i have a squier jagmaster with a seymour duncan phat cat p90, a standerd tele with 52 ri pickups, and the sheraton. i have a pretty diverse group here, and i get tons of great tones out of them.

i have a big pedalboard, but its got lots of electro harmonix and boss stuff. i use alot of delay and reverb, some tremolo, and i love my big muff. i run everything into a 1972 fender bassman ten and a usa made fender hot rod deluxe.

i love my rig, and my guitars bring out the best of it. especially the sheraton. ithought i might be changing the pickups out but damn, they sound great. not muddy or anything. i must have got two out of a good batch.

2003 Epiphone Sheraton II. Natural finish, gold hardware, awesome mother of pearl fretboard inlays and nice abalone vine inlay on the headstock.

its a really good weight, i changed out the knobs for some riviera style top hats. looks alot cooler.

AWESOME LOOKING.

can eat.

Great Guitar

This guitar is great for metal, if your a system of a down fan like me this guitar is perfect for heavy type music. Its worth the cost but the weight of the guitar you have to get used to.
