I don't know about ya'lls SRV strat but my '89 is Bad Ass !, it Jams in any music style, I also play Benedict guitars also and they come Real close but this one SRV strat i have is the BEST sounding one i have. I play thru Fender all tube amps and use Fultone, Dunlop,Boss, Dan Electro, ibanez pedals. I rated an 8 cause it don't sound to great without fixing it up.

SRV Strat, mine has EN000… for yr '89 and inside body has '91 stamped, the paint job on mine is so great, it is super thin and is starting to flake nicely due to the finish being so thin, i did buy another one but sold it a thick finish '97 model but it looked totally different than the '98 model paint job, frett board, pickups also diff,it does have med frets and not the jumbos like it should. I think this one and a few of the very first ones were hand built at the custom shop and thats why the new ones are not as Great as the first ones. the gold plateing on the '97 model was real thin and started flaking alittle, the 89 model is thicker gold plateing. the color tint on the first one and new one are different also the first ones are real lite color tint and new ones are dark tint like pumkin color. on the rateing it's hard because theres 2 different SRV strats of there. I love the lefthand tremolo bar and didn't like the pickgaurd.

Action on my '89 was high & '97 model sucked even with small strings, Big strings 11 1/2,15,19,28,38,56 with it all setup strobe, nut filed, set neck action etc.. and Rockin Roll ! Neck feels pretty darn good.

Never have had a Prob so don't know.

Jaming Dave (01/11/2003)

Killer pickups.True Stevie tone. They are replicas of Stevie's number 1.

Classic strat, best guitar ever!Vintage strat wiring, custom pickups designed by SRV himself!Engraved pickguard, gold hardware and a lefty tremolo, custom neck with pao ferro fretboard with jumbo frets.

As all Fender guitars, it needs a set up with .12's.Other than that it's great!!!!

Never had to talk to them.

"weapon of choice"

When i hold my strat its a instrument,-and when i hold jackson its a weapon.Looks powerfull and agressive.Oldschool metal look:sharkfins, pointy headstock, lot of character.Makes you proud to hold it.Transparen finish is awesome.Painted back of the neck(very smooth)-notice how new guitars have too rough and unlacquered necks.

Its worth the money,- and its not cheap.I paid 1400$ second hand from u.s.In australia it would be over 3000 u.s. $ bought from shop

Very solid, probably not as tuff as strat but close.Body, neck an machine heads are jackson made and those things jackson makes the best,-tremolo is original floyd rose, duncan, switchcraft(no less than the best components)

I keep changing things on it,pickups,i put afterburner,d tuna,-probably will install sustainer and vintage rails in neck to get the strat sound as well.It will be awesome(dont know what 59 sounds like in the neck but this guitar is more strat than anything else)

Killer guitar

I bought my current SL2 in 2005. It is an incredible instrument. I have owned several jacksons over the years starting as early as 1987 (custom ordered). I have only one problem with this one since that time.
The 3 way selector switch has gone bad. I called Femder music corp because, not only mine, but also a couple friend's jacksons have experienced the same issue. I was basically told that it was my problem. What happened to the good old days when Jackson music corps would take care of their customers.
It is really sad that an instrument that costs this much does not come with better customer care than that.
I would still buy another one and will buy more before everything is said and done, but wish that Fender would take a look at how they care for customers.

"A top value unusual Tele!"

An attractive guitar in both looks and workmanship.
It has a sound that's not a typical Fender sound – but if you like it as is (and I do) – it's a wonderful instrument to have.

Excellent value for the money they ask for!

Really well made. I believe- on par with the Mexican Fenders.
Clean finish. Good fit of both wood and metal parts. No loose ends visible. Electrical switches and knobs respond effective without any noise or hiss/ clicks etc. The guitar kept its tune for almost an hour of intensive playing.

a customer from yahoo.com (4/5/2005)

well it sounds great. Its shurly not as bright as standard tele setings and its not so rich as les paul. But its very versitale guitar. Its a superb rythm guitar for all kinds of music blues, reggae, rock …I play it plug in through Ibanez MIMIX 65 and with a right settings u can do just about anything from zz top to santana.

Fender Squier Tele Custom II P90 – agathis body, two Duncan Designed Soapbar single coil pick-ups with independent volume and tone controls, maple fingerboard, 22x medium jumbo frets. Colour: Black. First thing i must say … i love telecasters, i love the robust shapes, i love the sounds. This one i bought cos its realy looks cool and cos it has single coil soapbar pickups. I never have that kind guitar before. Guitar is realy well build, u might have to tighten some parts, do the usual setings. Components are nothing special or spectacular … just what u need. The neck is slimer then on my vintage tele and all in all is a lighter guitar.

As i say u might need to tighten some parts in my case it was a loose jack. Other than that no flaws, mybe ill change the tuners in the future. Action after i do the settings on the neck and on pickups is low and no buzzing so its realy comfortable to play.

I ve got guitar via Thomann germany, they are very profesional and exact i recomend them.

My Style of music has evolved over the years from Led Zepplin to Aerosmith to Scorpions To Pearl Jam to Aerosmith to George Strait to Toby Kieth to Aerosmith Get the Picture. I realy love to just rip bluesy stuff out. This Axe looked to me like Blues all over….

Ok now for the bad stuff…The sustain on this thing is very week. I've tried adgusting the pickup hieghts and no good. Don't get me wrong the thing sounds killer, in your face Metal stuff just like they say its for, but long melodic blues stuff, it just not there. I am not giving up on this one though, I am going to put a Classic 57 plus pup in her. I write back if it works.

All in all full in your face metal grunge is here tone sound realy good, only lacks in the sustain.

Finish is flat black with tribal cuts into the surface and edge. Realy does look kewl and hott. Its basically a les paul studio, everything is black except the copper wire which you see through the clear bobbins.. Di I say its Black? Pickups are 498T and 490

The body is Mahogany, and is Umm painted black. It looks Kewl Though…

Just on its cool Look and uniqueness I give it a 9. Since Gibson Tried to make the best looking Cheapest Les Paul in history, I think they achieved there goal.

Factory setup was ok, but you expect to adjust it to your likes. Thant said it was very close for me, intonation was on, strings were a bit high for me.

Where the bridge is screwed into the body has a slight flaw, Its like they drilled the holes then painted the body and forgot to blow some of the saw dust off… can hardly see it.

I have owned and do own lots of guitars now and in the past. This one feel good, solid, but seem kind of on the light side. I'm used to my "Holy Grail" 1981 Custom Shop Explorer which wieghts in at about + or -10 lbs. My Duaghter has a Daisey Rock Axe which feels heavier. None the less its a Les Paul

Its a good thing gibson make a descent product because there service is horrible. This axe was on factory order for 4 months before I took posession of it.

I have never had a good Experience with Gibson Service So its a please to score them low here….

I play rock, and some rock ballads like always of bon jovy some other of nirvana, pearl jam and metallica, i think this is a great guitar, it has a very warm sound plugged, unplugged is not the best guitar sound but it's really pretty good.

well it has a tuner, phase, the pick up's buttons looks reliable, strings it use are of a very good brand d'addario its recommendable you use this kind of strings with this guitar

pick up model sst fishman

features: shape, treble, midle, bass, tuner, phase, volume, kind of bateries due to the active pick up, AA

i bought the black one, i love this color in guitars well if you wanna know what materials it has hjust visit the ibanez page and lookup for this model.

i love it, its pick up is great even it has a tuner & phase!!

i tested this guitar in the store, normally in stores don't make adjustments etc. and this guitar was (& it's) in the right octave, no fret noise etc.

i just don't like the new ibanez font type

not needed

Ibanez Guitar

Great guitar. Bought it about 6 months ago at LA Music (since I live in Toronto, I couldn't get it from this site, and believe it or not, LA music is located in Toronto) and it has worked great so far for me. Love the onboard tuner. It is so useful…The cutout is also great for soloing in the high frets. Looks amazing, sounds nice with an amp, both clean and overdrive. I played it in church last weekend, and everything worked great. Unfortunately, I snapped my E string during the postlude, but it isn't the guitar's fault. I think it came with light strings, so I'll probably buy medium next, so they'll last longer. I also had a bit of trouble switching batteries, since alkaline AA's didn't work with the guitar. Hmm….. Anyways, I'll recommend it to anyone looking for a guitar with a cheap price, great features, good sound, and great looks. Overall, it's a great buy.

I play a wide range of styles, but with this instrument I mainly stick with classical and finger style blues / folk.

Un-plugged the sound is weak – but this is not what this guitar is all about.

I play this through a Marshall Valvestate 8240 and a Rocktron Intellifex – the sound is PERFECT – rich and clear – in fact I have hung on to the Marshall for the last 15 years because of the acoustic sound that I can get from it – Yeah – work that one out – I had an old friend over a while ago, and he is a sales rep for Marshall – he listened to the Ovation through the Marshall with his jaw hanging open – it's not supposed to be able to sound like that – was all he could say.

I give this a 10 only cos I can't give it a 20.

Bought it new in 90-91, cost about #430 if I remember correctly. They had just come out at the time and the owner of Hessey's music in Liverpool had brought one back from a trade show. I saw it and bought it immeadiately.

It has a solid top (spruce I think) a stunning orange/ bronze sunburst (it is still the nicest acoustic guitar I have ever seen).

Don't know what kind of pick up it has, but it has a treble, base and gain control on the top.

The action is super low and has never had to be adjusted in the 15 years I have had the guitar – plays like an electric.

For the money – simply outstanding.

Super action and stunning finish – I think I may have landed very lucky with the initial batch to launch the series, as I have looked at many new ones since I bought mine – and none of them even get close to the same finish.

Never needed it.

Chris Stocks (05/28/2006)

I play pretty much 70s, 80s, 90s, rock. It does what i need it to do and sounds unique, and not to mention good. I kill my strings very fast, so my nice sound dies pretty fast, but its back again with new strings. The sound holes being where they are seem to me like they dont project as much sound, and dont catch the bite of the strings as well. I have another crappier ovation, but even on that when the strings are way past dead the normal sound hole will still produce a pretty good sound. the sound holes on this celebrity look great, but if i bought another guitar maybe id go for the old normal, center hole. Also, this guitar sounds GREAT plugged in. I played live with it soon after i got it and i was very pleased and impressed with the preamp and the pickups in this guitar. IVe also heard it played live by other people, even with some light, bluesy distortion on it, and it sounded amazing. If you plan to play live, this is def a good instrument for the price.

Standard guitar features, nothing crazy, but a very solid instrument. Smooth tuners, stays in tune very well in the propper environment. Really nice finish, nice diamond inlays and art around the sound holes. beautiful guitar for the price. The preamp in it is great, has the built in tuner, very convenient and, not to mention looks pretty cool too. the neck is nice, bare wood look and feel. The binding adds an extra touch.

Feels like an ovation, light, electric feel like you probably want from these guitars. the action is a little high, im sure that can be tweaked with a setup, but it plays really well for me. bends nice and easy. finish seems great to me. like i said above, nice inlays, tuners, bare wood neck, i have the transparent blue finish and i love it. the back is nice and smooth. plays, looks, and feels like a decent ovation.
