Fender Road Worn 60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

Fender Road Worn 60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar (with Gig Bag)

Like classic cars or your favorite T-shirt, some things just get cooler with age. It’s especially true of electric guitars–they develop an unmistakable mojo over time that only makes ‘em look even cooler and feel even more comfortable than when they were brand- new. That said, Fender’s new Road Worn ’60s Strat guitar delivers that killer aged look, feel and mojo without breaking the bank; designed using 1960s specs augmented by Tex-Mex pickups and 6105 frets. A true player.

The Stratocaster really came into its own in the 1960s, with players coaxing unbelievable sounds from it amid punishing stage shows and grueling tours. Beaten, bruised and even burned, they only got better as the years wore on–looking even cooler and feeling even more comfortable. Fender’s new rosewood-fretboard Road Worn ’60s Strat delivers that aged look and feel–built to look, sound and feel like it’s got more than just a few miles on it, designed with 1960s specs, including a nitrocellulose-lacquer finish, and supercharged with Tex-Mex(TM) pickups and 6105 frets.

Road Worn

They sure do look nice, and that's what hooked me. Unfortunately, this is really a Mexican strat which has been dressed up by the distressed finish, and sold without even the benefit of a hard case.

Great Guitar

Well here it is, this is a poor man's relic. This guitar is solid, the feel of the neck, the tone from wood from the thin Nitro coat, and of course the beat to hell look. This is a nice alternative to the Custom Shop Relics thet are way out of my price range. You buy a guitar like this for it's appearance and the vibe it gives off, and oh yeah, it happens to sound great. Even with the Tex Mex pickups this thing sounds great, I'm playing through an Area 51 wah, Dunlop reissue Hendrix Fuzz Face with the BC108 silicon transistors, TS808, Soul Vibe, going into my 50W Marshall Jubilee. Dude go out and get one of these! Seriously. Many will frown on it being MIM and for the price rightfully so, but it's as close to a Custom Shop axe as you're gonna get without spending a couple grand.
<p>I also have a American Standard loaded with Tex Specials and a MIM loaded with Seymour Duncan Vintage pups and this one is becoming my new number one, the Nitro Finish kids, it's where it's at…

Ibanez S7320 7-String Customer Review

Very comfortable… and I've never played a 7-string before this one.

You definitely need to rip the pickups out. I haven't done this yet as I am trying to work out which pickup combination might work the best. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices…
-2 EMG 707 Active pickups
-a Dimarzio D-Sonic (Petrucci) in bridge and a Dimarzio D-Activator in the neck (an active-sounding passive).
-The Evolution (Vai)
I love John Petrucci's sound so I may go with the second option at this stage. Does anyone have any feedback on my choice.

Very sexy

Fantastic &amp; Versatile

This is a dream for any player live or in the studio. It takes about a half hour with the manuel but after that you are flying. The rhythm tracks with bass and being able to edit them on my laptop and change key in a nanosecond is amazing. the effects are top notch and more than all my stomp boxes combined. This is far more versatile than my POD. My only concern is the buttons are too small and if I drop it, it seems like it could be sturdier.

Korg sounds are some of the best

Korg is not exactly known as a guitar company. Keyboards, yes, but rock and roll guitar and Korg are not exactly synonyms. Enter the Pandora series. Represented here are some of the best amp and effect simulations on the planet, and the size of the unit is almost laughable. I love being able to show up at a gig or the studio with my guitar, a couple of cables and the pandora and get more sounds than I need for even the most eclectic set. If you want an amp- go with tubes, if you want portable studio effects- this box will do the trick.

Big thumbs up

Versatile combo. Both clean and overdrive channels sound rich and great. Excellent price-to-quality ratio. If you play pop/rock/blues/indie/etc. styles, I highly recommend it.

I acknowledge I made a mistake. My last review about the Supersonic was a mistake because I gave 10 for your sound quality but today I would like to opine after some days playing with it.

My error was not to have tried the Supersonic in several places (gigs, reahersal, small club) before rating it. Sorry.

Vintage channel – If you look for a vintage sound like Bassman, FORGET IT. The channel sounds good but doesnt sound like Bassman. Never. About the Vibrolux I cant rate because I never played with a real Vibrolux.

Burn channel – The same problem for me, this channel is unuseful. It doesnt combine to my drive pedals and others that I tried (Lovepedal, LTD, TS 808 and Box of rock). This channel is agressive for me. It is not smooth and cream.

Reverb and effect loop – Both are great! but…

Overall – I have negotiated my SS for a Bassman 59 LTD. The Bassman is simple but has TONE, TONE, TONE. Even without reverb and effect loop. Just channel-jumped and a TS 808 or any good drive pedal in front of amp you will dream and play more and more.

I think that four speakers (10 jenses) increase the quality of amp. I didnt like the vintage 30, cuts my ears.

Well, the Supersonic is not a prossional amp (FOR ME). It can be versatile but I dont need versatile I need only Tone.

This is an upgrade of my review below.

ok.

My advice – Try before to buy anything, any amp, any pedal, any guitar. If you can try in several situations, it is better for you.

Sweet!

I played this in my local music shop and I loved it. The distortion is really nice and the clean is great. It comes with a bunch of effects. From what I've seen so far, I love it.

Something Wicked from St.Clair Mi (Dec 12, 2008)
Great sound…BUT………..

Was looking for an amp with power and great sound. This amp certainly fills that need. Also comes with a very affordable price tag.
With the footswitch, I am able to set all three channels to my liking and very seldom have the need to touch any adjustments on the amp once I start to play.

That being said, I would still buy another one if this one were to quit (me.)
