This guitar is so cool

I love the checkeres on it and just the entire look. The only thing that sucks is that it doesnt have tone knobs on it.

Fender rocks from Kelowna, B.C (Sep 26, 2007)
nice

I really enjoy playing this guitar! It is great because its not too fancy and complicated. I love how there is only one volume knob and no tone knobs to complicate it. It has really high action which I love! I would recomend for you to buy this guitar if you are thinking about it.

Expensive but worth it!

I have owned an '88 KV now for over 7 years. I have played this guitar mercilously and it has taken my absue without even flinching. This guitar feels and plays like no other guitar except for a brand new one or a US Jackson Kelly. Still, I put EMG's in it instead of the original Jackson pickups and now it sounds phenominal! Great for speed metal. Very articulate and sounds good clean also. It's expensive but unquestionably worth every penny! The only problem I've really had with it is that the pickup selector is dirty. Just need to open it up and put some contact cleaner on it… but for an almost 20 year old guitar, what do you expect? heh.

My local music store had one of these in stock and I absolutely had to try it. It was the blue ghost flames one, and the picture does not do this guitar justice. This guitar was one of the best guitars I've ever played! No matter how much I abused the floyd, it just wouldn't go out of tune. I'm planning on ordering the one in black ghost flames. I just wish it wasn't so expensive!

Dean VMNTX Dave Mustaine Electric Guitar vs. Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster Electric Guitar (Maple, with Case)

Dean VMNTX Dave Mustaine Electric Guitar

Dean VMNTX Dave Mustaine Electric Guitar

The Dean VMNTX Dave Mustaine Electric Guitar is a tribute to the hard edge style Mustaine has emitted over the past two Decades. It becomes obvious just by looking at this masterwork, that alot of effort has been put forth designing the top art on this magnificent V-style guitar.

Built for image and playability, this guitar rocks whether it is in your hand or on your stand. The Mustaine neck profile enables fast riffing while the top art screams out with a flare for the dramatic. This Dean guitar is one for both collectors and shredders, alike.

Dean VMNTX Dave Mustaine Electric Guitar Features…

Bolt on 24 fret maple neck

Rosewood fingerboard

Dual Dean design black open humbuckers

Black hardware

Mini Grover 6 in line tuners

If its built right

I had to send the first one back, the bridge pick up came broken, and the paint scratched off in spots. Second one has a loose neck pick up, and the metal piece where the strings enter the guitar is offset, so only half the hole is open. Its a great guitar, but I haven't been able to get one at its best.

This guiatar is the bomb, the way its desighned and its the best and cheap. The only downfall is that dean is getting ripped off. ha.

Great Guitar

First, really impressed with the quality. Everything on my sample looks good…neck pocket etc. I feel this guitar is a good value. I love the look of the vintage white…classic. My main guitar is an Eric Johnson strat and I would say the quality just a notch below. The Yngwie is much less weight than my other strats too. I'm really shocked I like the scalloped neck and giant frets; it really gives you more control over vibrato, pull-offs and bends…makes very wide bends easy, IMO. Very easy to slide up and down the neck…less friction. I'm really surprised how low-output the pickups are; very clean. I thought the pups would rip but I think the bridge is lower output than the EJ. Only wish is that the Yngwie had five-way switching. IMO great sounding, looking and playing guitar.

Superfuzzfacebigmuff from SA Texas (Jul 3, 2008)

I play progressive metal/rock and sideline with a classic and southern rock band. I have to get a variety of tones out of my instruments and I need a guitar that will take a variety of abuses and still perform. This guitar is it!

I've been playing for 24 years and I like a guitar that will perform well with high-gain tube modified amplifiers without losing the nuances and subtle characteristics of the plucked notes. The YJM pickups achieve this by not being monstrously hot and being responsive to the player's technique. This, along with the scalloped fretboard make you really shape up as a player but the result is well worth the effort. This guitar literally becomes one with you.

No thanks Floyd

This is in regards to the Floyd Rose Tremelo more then the guitar. Why anyone would want that contraption on the guitar is beyond me. What a nightmare to tune and change strings. I'll never buy a guitar with one of those things.

Evolution doesn’t have to mean more complicated. The SC and SCA S Classic axes and the new SZ have evolved into even simpler instruments than their famous S ancestor. The comfortable slim body with fat Mahogany tone and sustain that made the S famous is there — but the SZ and S-Classics feature simple fixed bridges and a 25.1 scale neck that has a different feel than the S guitar’s 25.5 scale.

Series Features:

Thru-body, staggered stringing compensates for different string thicknesses and provides superior tonal balance, feel, articulation and sustain.

3-piece set in neck for better upper fret access and sustain.

Quilted maple top and slightly thicker S mahogany body provide incredibly full sound with a wide range of overtones.

New Gibraltar III bridge offers fixed bridge simplicity and sustain. No sharp edges for longer string life.

Have you seen the headlines? “Guitar rock is back.”

We’re happy to hear it. Except at Ibanez, guitar rock never “left” – and if you’re the type of player who reads Ibanez catalogs, you’ve been too busy playing guitar or bass to worry a whole lot about the media’s take on music. However, the papers are right about one thing: there are more new guitar and bass guitar styles than ever before. That’s why there are more different kinds of guitars and basses in the 2003 Ibanez line up.

Ibanez SZ520QM Quilted Maple Electric Guitar Features…

* SZ set-in neck

* 3pc. Mahogany neck material

* Mahogany/Quilted Maple top body

* 22 medium frets

* Rosewood Finger Board – Rosewood offers a strong, bright sound and an attractive appearance with a long grain.

* Gibraltar III bridge

I mostly play metal , punk and ska , and this perfectly suit my playing style . I really love the way the heavy wood feels when you play it , and I think it gives a more bassy sound . The pickups a good , but not that great . The bridge pickup sounds a bit harsh , and the neck pickup is great for a big clean sound , but with distortion it sounds not focused enough . Middle postion is great for ska . So , it's a pretty versatile guitar , but pickups could be better.

Made in Korea in 2003 . 22 frets , nice quilted maple top .2 humbuckers, 3 way switch , 2 volume and 1 tone knob . They now use duncan designed pickups , but I think mine are ibz something . Mahogany set net in mahogany body , cream boudn fingerboard , non locking tuners , gibraltar bridge .

The guitar was perfectly ajusted , perfectly intonated and just really well setup . The top is really well matched , especially for a guitar in that price range . The action is low , and strings don't buzz anywhere on the neck . I give it a 10

coustfan01 (11/30/2005)

It suits a good deal of hard rock, punk, classic rock, and good old southern rock. This guitar kicks ass for anything. You can bust out bad ass solos with this guitar. The mediam frets hold great sustain. I use an rp300 effects processor, a arion metal master and arion tubulator stomp boxes, and the two dist. channles on my crate Mx120r amp. The rp300 has ranges of many effects, it seem to sound good on all of them, the metal mast and tubulator sound alright, but then again these pedals were only $19.99. And the distortion channles on my amp sound great altho there is this very anooyin feedback sound that comes from it when i play , but it happens on all my guitars. I really like this guitar for its looks, powerful sound, and the ability to play anything you want on it.

This is the newest guitar to the S series, so it was mad about 2002-2003, it has 22 frets, it is a glossy laminated top,shiny, volume, tone, and 3 way selecter are available. There are 2 sz humbuckers. Quilted mapple-topped body. Theres a flame inlay at the 12th fret. Tuners are non-locking. Mediam frets.

Everythings good.
