Marshall MG30FX Guitar Combo Amplifier (30 Watts, 1×10 in.)

Marshall MG30FX Guitar Combo Amplifier (30 Watts, 1x10 in.)

Marshall’s exclusive, groundbreaking FDD circuitry plus 30 watts of power for killer tones. The MG30FX includes a 10 inch speaker, four switchable channels, and a 3-band EQ that lets you shape your tone. FDD (Frequency Dependent Damping) circuitry gives the MG4 Series the unbelievable depth of sound and unique feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by emulating the way an all-tube power amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving. Plus the easy to use panel controls include gain, followed by a three-band EQ, volume and Master Volume.

Channels

On the MG30FX guitar amp combo, the 4 channels are Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2. Switching seamlessly between channels is easy with the push button controls. Plus the amp features two modes: Preset and Manual. Preset mode stores the position of all the controls except the master volume while the manual mode is the actual physical position of the controls. Settings for each channel can be customized and saved for instant recall.

Effects

The MG30FX provides two simultaneous effects, Reverb and one of these four digital effects (Chorus, Phaser, Flanger or Delay). The Delay can be manually set using the front panel Tap button.

Recording or Practice

The combination line out/headphone out features speaker cabinet emulation, giving you full Marshall sound when recording or practicing through headphones. A line input allows you to play along with MP3 and CD players. The optional Stompware footswitch provides seamless transitioning from sound to sound and tap tempo, plus a built-in tuner with LCD display.

"You fell short Marshall, try again."

Not hardly.

A little on the high side. If you want to try one I suggest get a used one.

It's foreign made in China (at least mine was.), so it's as good as it gets. Well….,it looks like a Marshall, but it's not.

Never had to use them. Didn't even have it that long.

"Gut pounding distortion!"

I've play on Peavey and Crate and as far as sound this beats them both especially the distortion is heavy and has alot of punch. Work the effects in and get hundreds of sound.

Compared to similar amps with the same features, I'd take this for the sound alone. It's my first Marshall but won't be my last.

Haven't had it long but seems to be well built.

Never had a Marshall but this one was affordable and after playing it I'll be buying Marshall. Great sound. You get thundering distortion.

Bad Company

Very loud, saturates early, and really responds to a boost pedal. I run a Boss DS-1 with the gain off, tone and level maxed, and this kicks my drive channel into blissful classic rock chunk and lead on the drive channel. An Alternative dream. A perfect studio amp just waiting for your favorite pedals. Made in England. Once the Greenback gets broken in, you'll marvel at the tones. I sometimes stare at the back panel and drool! If you can't get this to scream, you suck as a guitar player, period.
