An ultra-fine layer of D’Addario’s exclusive EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 Bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire, resulting in a built-in barrier against corrosion and wear. Strings retain their inherent extra-bright tone and natural feel, yet last 3-4 times longer than traditional strings. These are D’Addario’s brightest-sounding extended play strings.

"Perfect Strings"
These strings will not easily rust, they never show dirt or grime and never flake.
The strings are a bit pricey, BUT you must realize that they pay for themselves around the 1st month you've had them. Because you don't have to change the strings, you're saving money.
The quality of the strings are extreemly high, as I stated before they have never slipped on me after first tuning. A capo will not cause need for re-tuning on these strings and they're very easy to put on your guitar, clearly labled and packaged.
I feel confident in using these strings on ANY of my future guitars, and they do make me have a bit more faith in the company.

String Value for Working Pros
Full time professional for twenty nine years, acoustic soloist. Used many brands of strings over the years, including Adamas, D'Addario, Dean Markley, Martin, among others. Tried the Elixirs on the recommendation of the luthier who does maintenance on my guitars.
Working solo gigs anywhere from two to six nights a week, averaging around twelve gigs each month these days. Gotten to the point where regular uncoated strings last one gig, two if I really stretch it, then lose tone quality and are at risk for breakage.
Used Elixir Poly Web strings for the past two years, and while they are more expensive, they last so much longer, maintaining tone quality and tunability, that they pay for themselves.
The sound, while somewhat less bright than brand new phosphor bronze strings, is none the less full, round, balanced, and very pleasant, responsive in many kinds of playing situations. I now use Elixir exclusively on my Larrivee and Takamine acoustic electrics, and feel they bring out the best in both of my instruments.

The Very Best, Period.
I've tried a lot of brands. I once worked at a music store and had an opportunity to sample many of the strings that we sold, but none come close to the Elixirs. I enjoy the Polyweb specifically because of the reduced fret noice and the longevity compared to other brands.
The only complaint I have is that the G string seems prone to break. I'm not sure why, but even when I worked at the music store there were always people looking to buy just that one string.
Overall, in my humble opinion, this is the best acoustic string on the market.
