This is a really good dvd/book to help you learn how to play the guitar. I have only been playing for about 3 to 4 months and let me tell you, now I know all the cords and scales and I'm playing songs now. It will help you learn how to read tab, change strings and take care of you guitar. You can ask John any question you have and they will answer it as soon as they can. The only thing I can say is if you want to learn the guitar this is the dvd. Don't do what I done and go out and buy a lot of books and dvds that don't work. This is the one you need, at least I thank so.

Great Product

I purchased this product after having no luck at local guitar stores about instructional products. Why are most music stores full of snotty people who do not wish to help a beginner? I digress. This product is very easy to use. As a 35 year old beginner it's been a very fun way to learn something I have been interested in for years. It is well thought out, and the exercises are interesting, yet hard enough to want to get faster and better. I will continue with the other levels after I have completed this DVD. (Although, I think the exercises in this DVD will continue to be part of warm ups forever.) This has been a very satisfying purchase.

Wonderful tool for the solitary learner

Started out on another method that was book only, was great for learning notes on string, but chord rythms, etc. were shaky. Picked up these DVD's and never looked back! Great for learning your chords and rythm styles, plenty of finger workout exercises and scale progressions to learn the fretboard, and the online support tops it, especially for people like me who come up with LOADS of silly questions.
