Rolls PS91ZM Power Supply Customer Review

Heck yes! It's the best investment ive ever made.

Too expensive for a pug.

I stood on it with one foot once like a crane… it still works.

I will never love any other plug again.

Not exactly as advertised

Please note that this bag does not have "padded internal straps to hold pedalboard or keyboard in place during transport" as the product description says. At least mine didn't have them when it arrived today. Padding seems good. Front pocket is very large. Large enough to hold my wireless and several cords. Interior is roomy enough to house my Line6 FBV Shortboard and cable. Should perfectly fit either a PODxt Live or POD X3 Live also. Won't protect the contents from drops but will stop them from being banged around or getting scratched. More importantly, it will stop my FBV Shortboard from denting and scratching anything else. Good bag for the money.

Also great for Digitech GNX4

After much searching, I ordered this bag for my Digitech GNX4. It fits perfectly in depth and length and there are only about 1 1/2 inches of excess space in width. The front pocket holds the power supply and a couple of guitar cords nicely. The case itself is made of a pretty heavy nylon which should hold up well and it's well padded for proctection. This is the best option I've seen for the GNX4 after much looking.

DOD announces the introduction of their new YJM308 overdrive pedal, which was developed to meet the exacting sound requirements of artist Yngwie Malmsteen. Yngwie, a long-time user of the DOD250 overdrive pedal, worked with the DOD engineering team to help create the tone and overdrive qualities of the new YJM308. The process required rigorous electronic testing and real-time analysis of various overdrive and equalization combinations before they finally were able to match Yngwie’s signature sound. The YJM308, which uses Yngwie’s initials in its name, features Gain and Level controls and a bypass footswitch.

“When I was a kid in Sweden back in 1978, I bought my first DOD 250 pedal. This preamp overdrive pushing the front end of my tube amps has been a key element to my tone ever since. Like most handwired vintage equipment of the era, there is some variety in the sound between my different old gray pedals. DOD took my favorite pedal and used that as the reference to create the YJM308. Now I can always get my trademark tone and keep my original vintage gear safe at home. More than that, this new pedal sounds so good it is what I am using these days. I have not hooked up my old 250s at all recently. I am using the YJM308 for everything, including my new album. Not to mention it looks cool” – Yngwie Malmsteen

All of my other expensive guitars I own, all get their original pickups scrapped and I put EMG's in them. I love the EMG sa/sa/81 combination. It makes all my others sing. I planned on doing this to this strat but much to my surprise, this things full of tone(especially the neck pickup)I'm using this with a multi amp setup:

My Mesa Boogie Triaxis and this guitar is pure heaven. Much better than even Yngwies. Dont get me wrong, I love Yngwie, his lead tone is some of the best(he's got a great ear 2 to come up with this perfect combination). But his bottom low E chord is quite muddy with his Marshalls and The Mesa sound is just that much tighter. Just imagine Yngwies guitar with John Petruccis rig(basically what I have).Kinda low output pickups but the Mesa makes up for that. This guitar sounds just like Yngwie(only louder if thats possible) through my 1978 Marshall JMP 100 watt master lead head(fawn color). Very clean indeed.

Last but not least this guitar sounded bad through my Soldano sp-77 preamp(surprised me) All of my other guitars sing through the soldano.

This guitar also cuts through the mix very well

Recieved guitar with 10's on it. Had em changed to 9's reset up and it almost plays itself. The amount of hand vibrato and bends you can achieve is like none of my others.Great action No flaws whatsoever. I did change the strap holders to Dunlop straplocks. I also throw the guitar around me and never want one to get away from me. Now it's secure

Lifetime warranty

Bought this guitar from Dan at Guitar Exchange(thanks a lot Dan)

Never had to deal with em for support but I'm sure they will be there and very helpful

It really doesnt get any better for my musical taste. I mean does this thing scream or what. Its throaty and soulful in a way my jackson and prs are not. They really sound soulless in comparison. There is just something raw and mean about the JYM ! Elecrtronics are great (silent switching) and the pickups are just marvelous – you really can dial in the Malmsteen sound at the turn of a knob – although it is recommended to use a DOD YJM308 pverdrive pedal. Preferably the ones modded by analag man. (www.analogman.com – they do a truly wonderful version of the original "grey" 250's that Malmsteen prefers and uses himself).

For what I play (Rock/Blues) this thing absolutely rocks. The new deeper scalloped neck is truly one of the world's wonders. I bought mine from ebay. Also the new bullet truss rodd is very cool as is the machine screw neck mounting. Somehow it adds a little sustain and embelishes the overall tone. Paint job was just perfect. The tweed case is also a nice touch for what essentially is a vintage guitar. In comparison to some other guitars, the features on this may be spartan – but thats fine by me – its the sound that counts. It gets an 8 for the scalloped neck. Otherwise in terms of features the score would have been lower.

Now – this is my 2nd 07' YJM I have purchased in a month. I had to sell the 1st at a significant loss. When I received the first one, the brass nut was cut totally wrong (how could this get threw QC ???), the nech was not flush in the necj joint and as if that was not enough, the high e string just didnt want to stay on the fretboard. No matter how I played or what I did. It came to a point where I was thinking more about the string than playing freely – not fun. Even my local luthier called it "unplayable". Since I purchased the guitar on ebay from the states and shipped it to London, I lost my warranty. To cut a long story short, I sold it at a significant loss. However, I ordered another one. I hate to say this but it really is an unbelievable piece of equipment – the sound just makes you wanna close your eyes and play until someone rips you away from it….. I finally received my second one last week. I can't describe how let down I feel. On this one, its the low e string that doesn't want to stay on the fretboard. The nut was fine on this one. However, that served me no purpose as it is once again, effectively unplayable. Which is such a pitty. I really feel as though Fender has broken my heart two times ina row. Unfortunately there is no money back guarantee from the store I bought it and Fender does not see the issue as being covered by the warranty. Which angers me because I am now stuck with a guitar that is not playable. You would think that a company like Fender would understand the emotions involved when a musician purchases an instrument. I feel let down by them after these two consecutive negative experiences. I definately think there must be some kind of quality control issue at fender since the introduction of these new 07 models. One thing to keep in mind is that on a Vintage Fender Bridge, the string spacing is much wider than on other makes (Gibson, prs, jackson – I own one of each)and hence the positioning of the bridge on the body really requires a close attention to detail. It is because of this that there is really zero margin for error when mounting the bridge on the body. If its off by even 1mm off the center of the body, you will either have a high e or low e string falling off the neck when played normally. I thought it may have been my playing that was inducing the problem but I tried an 06' model and that was perfectly set up. I played freely without any issues. It is clear that on both my YJMs the bridge may not have been perfectly routed. I cant believe this has happened to me twice in a row.

My rating says it all. I save up, I buy one, Its messed up, I take another leap of faith, and then II am told I am on my own. I could have had a master builder from the custom shop build me one by now. What a money pitt.

Radial London Bones Dual Distortion Pedal

Radial London Bones Dual Distortion Pedal

The London ‘Bone’ is a solid-state version of the popular Tonebone Hot British distortion pedal. The ‘magic’ inside is a multi-stage drive circuit that produces rich, fat tones reminiscent of the latest high-gain Plexi-style tube amplifiers. This unique circuitry retains note clarity even when driven to extremes. Features include: variable drive that lets you dial-in the perfect amount of distortion, a powerful dual-band equalizer with Radial’s distinctive passive-interactive tone circuit, a 3-position ‘Kick’ switch to add extra mid-range drive or fatten up single coil pickups, plus a 3-position ‘Bite’ control that can compensate for overly bright amps or add extra cut and sizzle to your tone.

The London employs a unique high performance buffering circuit with preset load correction that retains the performance of ‘true bypass’ connectivity while lowering the impedance and susceptibility to noise. This enables the London to efficiently drive the guitar signal when using longer cables and enables it to employ our latest EIS – Electronic Impulse Switching – for unmatched durability without the challenges posed by mechanical switches.

For maximum on-stage efficiency, the London is configured for ‘clean, rhythm & lead’ playability whereby in bypass mode, you get the natural clean sound of your guitar. When the London is activated, you can choose between two output drive circuits using the toggle footswitch. Each is equipped with a variable level control ( so that Level-1 can be set for rhythm while Level-2 can be driven at a higher level for lead. To increase sustain and cut for solos, the second drive circuit is augmented in the mid-range. Bright, easy to see LEDs deliver on-stage switching cues so you know exactly where you are at all times.

As most players employ pedalboards, the London features standard ‘Boss style’ 9V powering that will adapt to most multi-pedal power supplies. The ultra-compact design with top mounted i/o connections allow pedals to be placed close together for those wishing maximum pedalboard density.

The London is a high performance distortion pedal that delivers decades of Plexi-style tones in a compact and easy to use format. God save the Queen!
