Analog Modeling at a good price.

I really love this Amp. It is 100% analog and yet it can sound like different amps, different speakers, & different gain levels. It has a 10" speaker that can bow you away with volume.. I was originally worried about not having a 12" speaker: this amp sounds loud & I love the speaker Voicing. The amp is also made in the U.S.A.!

nemeton from Nem York (Jan 9, 2008)

It perfectly meets my needs…

Ibanez RGT 220A Prestige > (Morley Little Alligator – sometimes) > Trademark 30

clean setting: Drive 0, Calif, Clean, US Speaker, Bass +1, Middle Flat, Treble Flat. Really natural sound, deep and balanced basses, not invasive mids and singing highs. It is a sort of neoclassic sound (Surely I don't mean a neoclassic shred sound, at last for the clean setting), veeeery beautiful…

distorted setting: Drive Max, Calif, Hi-Gain, US Speaker, Bass +1, Middle -1.5, Treble -1.5. Awesome!! Let me repeat: this is a really awesome sound. Truly expressive, liquid when I want it to be liqiud (fast legatos, sweeps, tapping) solid when I want it to be solid (fast alternate picking passages, muted notes)… It really fits my playing style, but I am conscious that this impression can be completely different depending on the player…

Please notice I exclusively use the Calif model paired with the US speaker… those seeking for a Mesa sound will be completely satisfied… Just to be clear: my Mesa V-Twin is taking dust now, and believe me, I really loved it…

I absolutely don't like the Brit model, but no surprise, I don't like the Marshall sound… The Tweed model is usable expecially on low Drive settings: similar to the Calif model, but with added clarity.

I admit the reverb sounds really good, but I think spring reverbs sound innatural, and I generally prefer a dry sound, so I don't use it for most of the times… Take into account that I play the TM30 in a large room so I have a natural reverberation for free…

On the noise question… I don't notice any noise, nothing with the clean sound, nothing with the distorted sound. However I use it as a practice amp and my level setting never goes further than 9.00 o'clock, and usually is even lower…

http://www.tech21nyc.com/tm30.html for the essencial spec.

Ask Tech21 to send you a manual and you'll have the most trustable source of information on the features…

No problems until now…

If it had another channel with completely indipendent controls (I mean both the character section and the eq) it would be perfect for me…

I plan to buy a TRI A.C. to have more flexibility, even if I am a bit sceptical about the exact reprobucibility of my TM30 distorted setting on the TRI A.C. (less controls on the TRI A.C.)… If the "TRI A.C. pluggeg into the TM30 return" set-up will leave me usatisfied I will use an A/B box to switch between the TRI A.C. and the TM 30 preamp: I really can't renounce to that sound…

Amp Models

Clean

Red LED — Select this Amp Model and adjust the tone controls to get crisp, amazing clean tones, great warm jazz tones, and all the high-end shimmer you’ll need with a generous amount of bottom end.

Glassy

Green LED — Line 6 developed this Amp Model to emulate those late 60’s and early 70’s clean tones. It started off as an Amp Model based on* a 1973 Hiwatt Custom 100. Line 6 extended the tone control range and tightened up the low end.

Twang

Red LED — This Amp Model draws on* Line 6’s analysis of mid 60’s Fender amps, including the blackface ‘65 Twin Reverb and blackface ‘64 Deluxe Reverb. Line 6 wanted an Amp Model that has that classic glassy high end tone, with some snap and bite.

Twin Twang

Green LED — This Amp Model is based on* a number of vintage tweed amps. Line 6 evaluated a ‘53 Fender tweed Deluxe Reverb, ‘58 Fender tweed Bassman and a ‘60 Gibson Explorer to create a swingin’ Rockabilly tone.

Blues

Red LED – Based on* a mix of a ‘65 Marshall JTM-45, a ‘58 Fender Bassman, a ‘63 Fender Vibroverb and a Supro, this Amp Model slides between gritty swamp-infected cleans to syrupy smooth, walloping drive tones.

Class A

Green LED — This Amp Model is based on* a fawn Vox AC-30 amplifier with an updated and expanded tone control circuit. Line 6 wanted to capture that early British pop rock tone that the Beatles and the Stones are so well known for.

Crunch

Red LED — This sound was crafted during Line 6’s studies* of the ‘68 Marshall Plexi 50 Watt. This type of Marshall amp was used by a number of early metal bands. Crunch provides a wider range of tone control settings than the original Marshall amp had.

On Fire

Green LED — This Amp Model is based on* a ?68 Marshall Plexi 100 watt with a few added extras; The combination of a Variac and the jumped input channels creates that infamous brown sound.

Metal

Red LED — This Amp Model is based on* the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier. Use this Amp Model to get a tight and punchy, high gain Metal sound.

Spinal Puppet

Green LED — This sound was created to be an aggressive high gain Amp Model with a unique Mid control that will sweep though an entire spectrum of tone on one knob. The Mid knob for this Amp Model changes the character of the distortion. When set to minimum, the distortion exhibits Fuzz pedal characteristics. When the Mid is set to noon, it mimics the creamy modern high gain amp tones. And when the Mid knob is turned up to max, it’s very much reminiscent of that Class A sound.

Insane

Red LED — This model is Line 6’s “dialed in for shredding” version based on* the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier red channel. It combines the intensity and impact of Metal Red, but delivers more midrange and teeth for that bone-crushing, brain piercing insane grind.

80s Solo

Green LED — Line 6’s goal with Insane was to provide you with as much input gain distortion as possible short of complete meltdown. You get an obscene helping of distortion, while still retaining tonal definition and character.

Effects

A great amp isn’t the only part of a great guitar sound. With Smart Control FX, an exclusive Line 6 feature that automatically dials in different effect parameters, you spend more time playing and less time tweaking. Simply find the effect that you want, turn the knob to your desired intensity, and you’re done. You can even use multiple effects at the same if you wanna get really crazy.

Effects Models (Up to 3 effects simultaneous):

– Phaser

– Chorus/Flanger

– Tremolo

– Sweep Echo

– Tape Echo

– Reverb

Ins & Outs

When you’re playing with your band on stage just drag the Spider III on stage and crank it up. When it comes time to record, use the headphone/direct out and plug it straight into the mixing board for world-class POD 2.0 direct tone used in pro studios and stages everywhere! You can also use the same out with headphones for practicing in your bedroom. Want to play along with your favorite songs? Plug into the CD/MP3 input and you’re good to go.

"Best Amp Out There"

I didn't want to buy it just because it sounded like it was a good amp, I also liked the color, and the way its made. The lights were cool looking when I turned it on for the first time. the color is perfect for performances. I only like dark colored amps. Not blue or white or ect.

The price is worth buying it. For everything it can do is worth the money.

It is made really well. It is dependable. You don't have to worry about it coming apart or anything, but one thing you have to keep an eye on is how you handle it when on the road. The bumps on the road could do damage inside it, because it is all computerised inside.

Overall this amp is the best I have ever played through. I may upgrade to the 150 watt amp. But for right now I am going to keep this one for quite a while. Everything about it is awesome. If thuis amp was lost or stolen I would buy the same one again. Before I bought it I wish I knew what all it could do. Really the only thing I don't like about it is that its a little heavy, but that doesn't bother me. I LOVE IT!! I DEFINETLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

I?m not a collector, just a player. I play two Ernie Ball Music Man guitars; one Silhouette Special and an older Axis Sport, both with SSH configuration and US made. The Special is alder with rosewood board and uses Dimarzio p?ups, while the Axis Sport is ash with maple board, and is loaded with Duncan?s. The Special is MM?s Strat, while the Axis Sport has true Tele vibes, and is much more articulate than the Special. I mention these things because given the pickup configuration and different woods, there?s a barrel full of tone options to run through the Wizard, giving it a pretty thorough wringing out.

First, I?ve discovered, as have a couple other posters here, that combining the Wizard with another speaker seems to bring out the best tones I?ve yet to find. In my case, the Wizard is loaded into a slightly rodded LC50 Laney (older 6L6 model) combo, and I?m using an Eminence Alnico Red Fang in an extension half-back Ear Candy Cab. In a word: Amazing. I?ve played through the Wizard by itself, and love it. Warm, articulate, lots of sustain, great pick attack, tight bottom ? the ticket for SRV-ish blues and old rock n roll. That said, when combined with the Red Fang, add to the above some top end sizzle (which can be rolled off with tone control), juicy harmonics and a clearly defined bass "twang" response. These two speakers together work some mighty mojo.

Rating the Wizard alone, I'd give it an 8. But here I'm giving it a 9 because of how well it plays together with the Fang.

The Wizard alone is an outstanding speaker, but if you?re going to be using 2×12, and you already have a quality speaker, consider trying the Wizard along with it before replacing both of your current speakers with a Wizard. You may just be blown away by what you hear. I am.

75 watt 12" guitar speaker, ceramic.

I'm fairly new to Eminence products, but I'm impressed with their quality. I don't play insanely loud, and I don't abuse my gear. I expect this speaker to have a long life ahead of it.

I've been playing for 40 years (yeah, I'm an ole hacker).

Over all, it's an excellent sounding speaker, alone or combined with another quality speaker, which to me is where it really shines.

If it were stolen, I'd get another. In fact, I'm getting another anyway. :)

Candid_X (03/25/2006)

I play a 2004 Mexican Strat with True Tone Technologies '54s (guys, you really have to check this pickup builder out!) and a 1998 PRS, one piece mahogany body, McCarty type with S.D. 59 at the neck and a JB at the bridge. I have several amps but my main ones are a Koch Multitone 50W head and an Oli Cabs 2 X 12" cabinet with Celestion G12Hs, and a Traynor YCV40 40W combo amp. I use the Wizard in the Traynor amp.

Having said all that, I believe that Traynor amps should come stock with this speaker – Yorkville would do well to cut the Celestion 70/80 and go with this Eminence speaker! The amp itself is great, but the 70/80 would crap out at higher volumes. I swapped the 70/80 with a Jensen C12N that I had on the shelf and the crapping out problem was solved and the Jensen sounded real good, but the amp still needed something… I started checking out the Eminence line of speakers and ordered a Wizard from ddspeakers.com (great price) just from the tonal desciption. I slapped the Wizard in, and the Traynor took on a whole new tone that seemed to complete the amp's sound! The highs are smoothed, the mids are more pronounced and gutsy, while the lows are tight and well balanced. This is definitely the speaker for this amp!

Well, it came in a nice box that I can re-use…

We'll see…

I use a custom built 2×12 cabinet with Celestion G12Hs in it and LOVE the tonal characteristics they deliver, and the Wizard comes real close! In fact, I'm going to purchase a another Eminence Red Coat Series speaker because they have proven to me, with The Wizard, that their products can compete with the "mainstays" of the guitar replacement speaker world.

Celestion Vintage 30 Classic Series Guitar Speaker (60 Watts, 12 in.)

Celestion Vintage 30 Classic Series Guitar Speaker (60 Watts, 12 in.)

Think of your all time favorite guitar solo – chances are it was played through Celestion loudspeakers. When a toughened G12 radio loudspeaker was combined with an early guitar amplifier back in the 50’s, who could have imagined the sound would be so influential. But the soft, creamy overtones produced by an overloaded valve amp through a Celestion speaker had defined a whole new sound; one that powered the emerging guitar heroes of the period and, during the next 4 decades, became the undisputed Voice of Rock ‘n Roll.

Be it Manchester Brit-pop, L.A. shred-metal, or Seattle grunge, it’s more than likely coming at you through a Celestion. Most of the classic names in guitar amplification continue to rely on the unique tonal characteristics of Celestion loudspeakers to produce their trademark sounds.

Vintage 30 Features

Modern guitar loudspeaker designed to handle high output with vintage tone and style.

Tight and responsive single note definition, with masses of volume and sustain.

100dB sensitivity makes the Vintage 30 ideal for use with high gain valve amplifiers.

The first choice for many modern rock guitarists.

About the Classic Series

Beginning with the legendary Celestion Blue, the world’s first dedicated guitar loudspeaker, these Classic speakers have delivered many of the memorable guitar performances in contemporary music over the past four decades. Hand-built, using traditional methods to retain their unique tonal characteristics, the Classics are considered by leading guitarists and amp manufacturers as the finest guitar loudspeakers that money can buy.

To experienced ears, each of the Celestion Classics is instantly recognizable: the Blue for its exceptional dynamic range, the Classic Lead for its presence, the Greenback for its warmth, the Vintage 30 for its definition, the G12H for its tight bottom end, and the G12T-75 for its pure, unadulterated grit. No wonder Celestion Classic loudspeakers are the guitar world’s Number One choice.

Six guitar loudspeakers that have come to define the voice of rock and roll.

From authentic vintage reissues to cutting edge new designs, each model has been created to perform in every conceivable situation.

Highest quality materials and components ensure supreme reliability and unparalleled tone.

I've recently purchased a American Fender Lonestar Strat but only had a solid-state POS to play it through. With my limited budget I bought the best value in tube amps that I could find, the blues Jr. For over-drive/distortion I got the tube-driven VOX Bulldog distortion pedal(highly reccomended) paired with my Seymour Duncan Pick-up Booster pedal, and for a while I was happy. I finally had the tube sound I was looking for, kind of…

The more I played the Jr., I noticed that the clean was not clean enough and the overdrive lacked the balls that I wanted. My mind could only think of one thing….Celestion. I considered the Alnico Blues, however a speaker more expensive than the amp itself seemed stupid, so I was talked in to buying the Vintage 30, semi-reluctantly. I threw it in the Jr. when I got home and was blown away. This was a totally new amp. Lows, mids, highs: all clear. Overdrive had balls of steel, but was also clear. what really amazed me was the higher frets on the b and e strings; no mud. The amp sounds twice as "big" as a day before. It was beautiful. plus it is a blues jr. I could not be happier for the money. I've also heard it in the Hot rod deluxe with the same results. It makes these mediocre amps sound spectacular.

It's a speaker in a box. what else is there?

Haven't had it long enough to know.

I've playing quite some time now. I play a few different instruments in all sorts of musical styles and know what sounds good. I have not heard many different guitars through the amp or the 30 in many different amps, but the Jr. isn't the best or most versatile amp, and this speaker transformed it into a work of art. I highly reccommend it in any fender amp and would give it a shot if you ary at all unhappy with your current rig. It has finally put an end to my spending for a great guitar sound.

WOW

These speakers finaly make my Marshall Vintage Modern Sound like a late 60's Plexi! I cant overstate how much a high quality speaker can do for your sound, Forget the V-30! This thing is surupy deep in tone! Cant believe its the same
amp anymore!

big sound

Great features cool tuner that works easy to read. Has some big amp sound little box. Wish it had more models but for size and money sounds great. I had the line6 30 watter and this sounds a little better to my ears. i think they metal channel sounds on this than the 30. Crunch real versatile if was one channel amp thats the channel
i would stay on. Clean ok does the job mixes well with effects. I am happy with my purchase

Disappointment

The sound is weak and default amp settings are over done. Even the tuner on mine doesn't work properly. I'm a Huge Line 6 fan, but this one really doesn't cut it. The VOX DA5 is a far better sounding amp, with many more features and ways to tweak your tone. What a shame but this is going back and not going to be an addition to my Line 6 collection.

Beware The Power Adaptor!!

Like all devices with a wall wart and a small power jack on the back, the jack is prone to breakage! (The same thing happened to my old laptop… maybe it's just me!) Also, there is a digital ringing sound at high distortion, as with all modeling amps. Otherwise, phenomenal amp. So great that I might replace my broken one with another!

Absolutely!!!

I've only had it for two days so I couldn't say yet, but so far I like what I see. I treat my stuff very carefully so it will last for 20 years.
