"The best guitar in the world"

The surf geen color is great. The neck and hardware looking aged is so cool and sexy.

Best guitar for the money.

Very good quality.

How Do I Love Thee….

Man I love this guitar so much I didn't even take the plastic off the pick guard until yesterday! How do I love thee? Let me count the ways….
1 Beautiful Fit and Finish! (I have the 2-color sunburst which I think looks just like one of Buddy Holly's Strats and which I prefer to the 3-color sunburst of later years. Not one flaw in the paint. I mean it's pristine. The finish of neck is immaculate as well. All the parts on my guitar are perfect. Custom Shop designed American quality, South of the Border price.
2.The neck. I love this neck. It's strictly a matter of personal preference but if you haven't tried a v-neck you owe it to yourself to try one.
3.Tuners. Gotoh tuners. Locking. Need I say more?
4.Two-point Tremolo. Best Fender Trem going.
5.Pickups. Again personal preference. To me they are the best sounding pickups I've played on any Strat. I like the way the positions are wired too.
6.Mojo. That indescribable magical vibe that get from an instrument. It's the soul of a guitar. This guitar has got it in spades.
7.Solid. This thing is built. It's not heavy though. It just feels like it could take some abuse. Strats are famous for that but some are better than others.
<p>I could go on and on about this guitar but I think you get my point. O.K. I confess, there is one thing I would change. I would rather have a nitrocellulose finish instead of poly (again a matter of personal preference) but how much more would it cost if it did? And if that's my only nit-pick then that's something I can live with! Love this guitar! Buy it!

For a student guitar, it has a nice mellow tone. I own two Stargazers and use them with students. No fret buzz. It is probably best used to play folk music. This guitar does not sound cheap.

I like the tuners. It stays in tune, and did not need much set up. (some adjustment to saddle)

I was pleasantly surprised with the sound, considering the size of the guitar.

Student 3/4 size dreadnought acoustic guitar, laminate top, made in China.

full scale neck; 20 frets; enclosed tuning gears; maple neck, hardwood back and sides (not sure what kind of wood) New(encludes pitchpipe, gig bag, neck strap)

Natural finish

Factory set was very good. I had to lower the action for my students, but all in all very satisfactory.

Construction and appearance: This is a very attractive dreadnought. Excellent construction. I now own two of these guitars.

I have never dealt with the company.

I don't even know who makes this guitar.

Anonymous (06/26/2002)

This guitar has a nice warm sound. It is alittle on the twang side mabey just a touch butt it still sounds good. My tastes are mostly on the electric side, butt really do enjoy playing acoustic. I have a Gibson acoustic here at home from the 1920's in exellent shape, inhertited that was my great grandfathers guitar. I don't hardly ever play it cause it is such a relic. I want to go out and get an accoustic to play here at home, and I'm envyios my step dad got this great guitar at such a low price. I'm on the fence about giving it a 7 or 8 rating on sound. It sounds really nice, butt only alittle better than average compaired with other guitars even in it's price range.

Well This was puchased by my stepdad used, so not sure much about the guitar. As mentioned in the previous review the tuners are enclosed no name tuners butt very good. I'm pretty certain it is a maple top, the sides I think may be mahogany butt am far from positive about that. The neck is finished so not sure of wood type of neck the frett board is rose wood. I like the dot inlays on this guitar. Single dots start on the fifth frett and there are double dots on the 7th and 12th. I like the way it looks is all, the way the dots are placed. I noticed there is some braceing inside the body of the guitar. I thought that was pretty cool and the bracing looks professional, like on higher end guitars. So I have to rate this guitar pretty high on features. one because of the quality of tuners, second just because I like the look of the dot inlays, and lastly the bracing and over all quality of how this guitar was made.

This is where I give the guitar cudo's. The last reviewer was impressed with how well this guitar stayed in tuned. I was also very impressed how well this guitar stays in tune. My stepdad does not play very often in fact The only time this guitar is really played is when I come over to visit and get the guitar out. At one time it was almost two months that went by and I got out the guitar and it was in tune. I was like damn. I mean I had to fine tune the guitar, but it was playable out of the case. My finer electrics don't keep a tune that well. So as mentioned before I was also impressed by the quality of braceing inside the gauiar, and the finish really is nice. The action was set up nicely no frett buzz anywhere that I could tell, and the strings ring out nicely even going up the regester on the higher fretts on the higher strings. The playability is pretty sweet as well. For all the reasons I mentioned here I believe this guitar deserves a big rating here

Fender Custom Shop Time Machine '60 Stratocaster Relic Electric Guitar (with Case)

Inside and out, the ’60 Stratocaster Relic guitar is a detailed recreation of its Kennedy-era ancestor.

It features an alder body, ’60s C-shaped maple neck, and—for the first time in its history—a smaller truss rod and slab laminated rosewood fingerboard with clay dot markers. The pickup design is faithful to the original right down to the materials and winding, producing a characteristically smooth and glassy tone. Under the hood, we’ve even replicated the finish undercoating and the crude pickup-wiring routing in the body.

This guitar has been given Fender’s “Relic†treatment—built to show years of natural wear and tear; with nicks, scratches, worn finish, rusty hardware and aged plastic parts.

When fender first came out with the 69' I thought I would never get one even though I am a big hendrix fan. I always wanted pre-cbs stuff. One day at the music store I saw a relic version of the guitar thought I would give it a try. the guitar sounded amazing. I think with the large headstock and the rosewood neck you get that extra warmth from the guitar. I wanted one at that moment, so I sold some other guitars and got the closet classic 69'. Sounds great for all styles, maybe not death metal….

Made in 2005, 21 vintage style frets(the thin ones) select alder body, 3 CS 69' pickups signed by AY, rosewood neck, black with the thin skin nitro finish and it is THIN. Vintage style bridge. F style tuners. Case candy includes, Cert, patch cord, extra springs for tremelo, strap and some picks along with manuals.

The guitar came set up perfectly from the custom shop for my liking. Of course everyone likes it diffrent and strats are some of the easiest guitars to set up yourself. No flaws on the guitar except the ones I wanted(closet classic) so some very light wear, hair line finish cracks and aged hardware and plastics, which is peroid correct. Guitar has all appropriate decals of period on headstock.

Never dealt with them.

Fender Custom '60 Relic: What a Beautiful Tone!!

Had this guitar built for me by fender custom shop, and after several months on a waiting list, it was finally finished. I received it about a month ago, and i can honestly say that this Strat was definitely worth the wait!! It has wonderful action, an amazing, beautiful tone that can belt out SRV like it was built for it, and the weathered "relic" treatment really gives it a cool and experienced exterior! Although fairly pricey, it is completely hand crafted and is a well built blues machine! The 60's Relic truly looks and sounds like it has lived through the best the 60's had to offer, and is incredibly hard to put down!

*i mostly play nu, heavy, and death metal. but will also play some rock like guns n roses.

considering to play all that down tuned metal, i switch tunings quite periodic, so that D-tuner is a great feature. The pickups are sort-of muddy though once past like 4 on the vol. knob. So i use my Rg570 for any clean playing/or solos.

* i use a peavey bandit(85 watt) through a DoD death metal, boss mt-2 and then through a digitech RP300.

* there is a nice contrast from the neck and bridge. The neck is great for rythym and is nice and heavy, while the bridge is nice and bright, allowing me to solo…

*I have never even used this at standard tuning but im sure it would allow to play clean cut solos.

*Tho the hums are great for this price range, i changed the brige pickup to a George Lynch seymore duncun pickup. Its a tad hotter, much cleaner, and brighter…great for lead.

*who cares where its made?

*22 frets

*solid top

*2 volume 2 tone controls (1 for brige 1 for neck)

*its got a H/H combo

*Powersound 1/2 pickups

*body is agathis, neck is maple with rosewood on the fretboard

*Its got a nice flat sliverish olive color

*double cutaway…nice

*SS 2 bridge with REAL habdy down tuner

*non-locking

* neck is tad fatter than the slim wizard neck. 2mm thicker than the wiz and tad wider than a wiz

*large frets

*free gig bag, two allen wrenches and a free 10ft cable

I didnt have any problems with the fretboard, pickups, or body. The action is low…in my opinion. and i like it like that, enabling for fast reaction. There wasn't any knicks in the frets.

In one of the earlier reviews someone said it was heavy…this agathis body is light as hell.

Logik (10/10/2002)

this is one of m three guitars the others an ibanez rx20 and a G&amp;L cammanche. This one has the darkest sound of them all and is great for cranky out some metal and such. can brighten up pretty well but would go with other guitar for that sound. does good to emulate a les or an sg when played heavy. Yet again the drop d piece makes it so great when playing and gives you a change without having to switch guitars.

I think it is a 2002 model and of course it has the same finish as all the Gax75s. 22 fret neck neck with dot inlays. pretty basic but with drop d tuning swithch. big unfinished neck which plays great.

never had to deal with them every thing works

Fender Custom Shop designers met Donal Gallagher, brother of the late, great Rory Gallagher, in 1997 at Los Angeles International Airport and received a gig bag holding one of the most coveted guitars of all time—Rory’s worn-to-the-wood 1961 Stratocaster guitar. Fender initially built 40 “clones†for the European market, and was subsequently besieged with requests for more.

The Rory Gallagher Tribute Stratocaster guitar is an exact replica of that revered instrument, right down to the extremely worn 3-Color Sunburst alder body, maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. We’ve even included five Sperzel tuners and one Gotoh tuner, and we’ve replaced the 12th-fret dot marker with white plastic instead of the original clay. It also features three custom-wound ’60s single-coil pickups, aged chrome hardware, 21 jumbo frets and a bone nut. Our homage to a true and truly missed master.

Its the end of a long search…

I have put them in my 1999 Fender Standart Us Stratocaster with maple neck. I have buy the complet set for all positions.

I had many different pickguards changed on the Strat.:

A Jeff Beck jr. at the bridge, Dimarzio cruiser at the neck, two Seymore duncans Sh11 custom custom at the bridge and neck, two sh59 at bridge and neck…the best was one Sh11 at the bridge and the standart singlecoils at middle and neck…but I was not realy blown away from this, so I want come back to the real deal of a Strat.

passive singlecoils

medium output

The output is a little bit higher than the Standart ones had.

I use the guitar with a Maxon delay, Classic Wahwah and Korg tuner,

in a Engl screamer combo with a Marshall 2×12 – Heritage Speakers.

Or in a old LondonCity Top and a Parker 4×12 Stack ( sometimes with a Fulltone 69` and a Jekyll and Hyde II ). And Klotz Tm Stevens Cables in any connection.

I have only a volumen (250) control on my Strat to have the "puretone" of the guitar. Its a hot vintage sound, crispy and chunky, not overpowerd like the texas specials but also not that belly like as a 54 set. The bridge is clear and chunky the neck is more bassy and fatdark funky ;-) the middle is very strong for that position.

I love modern Roots Rock sounds like Black crowes, The Answer, Black Stone Cherry, Richie Kotzen, Joe Bonamassa…

for this reason its a perfect match for my guitar and my style of playing, its the end of a long search. ( Ok, it hums under some conditions, but thats only when you stop playing, so keep on rockin.)

Fuzz (11/24/2007)

My set is in a custom built strat, Alder Body and one piece Birdseye Maple neck.

Single coils, I won't bother typing out the rest, if you are looking at this thread you'll know about this product.

Innitialled by Abigail Ybarra for a touch of MOJO.

I give them a 10 in this category. All the features you expect.

These are a little less powerful than standard pups, but don't let that fool you. They have bags of tone and then some.

I love the sound of these pups, vintage and pure Fender, they are a little noisy but that is how real single coils are. Noiseless pups lose some of the chharacteristics associated with Fender tone.

Clean amp – they are nicely balanced and ring like a bell.

Overdriven amp – This is where these pups impress the most. Think Hendrix.
