The Guitar Digital Entertainment Center, or G-DEC, is a one-of-a-kind practice amp that’ll keep you playing for hours and hours because it’s so simple and fun! The G-DEC boasts more features than most full-sized amps, in a small, portable and familiar package. Inside, you’ll find a fully-functional MIDI synthesizer that is used for onboard drum loops complete with practice bass lines and even some accompaniment from other instruments — each with their own volume control! The G-DEC gives you 17 different amp types, 29 effects, 10 reverbs and tons more parameters to design and save your own tones — or simply spin the chrome knob and select from 50 Fender-designed presets, which include a drum loop with bass and accompaniment and an appropriate guitar tone to match.

The G-DEC has as much digital signal processing power as any of the Cyber-Series amplifiers with additional features such as a flexible 14-second phrase sampler, a full MIDI synthesizer that can be played by an outboard MIDI controller or by MIDI files streamed from your PC, and filters for focusing on different instruments in any song played by an MP3 player or CD player through the auxiliary input.

The G-DEC is an ideal amplifier system for beginning guitarists who can easily learn to play in time and have fun from day one, and is great for the experienced musician as a song writing tool or just a fun practice amp that will keep you playing longer and more frequently.

"AMAZING for a practice amp"

I wanted from the day I heard about it, highly recommend you get one.

a little over priced, but definately worth it

Its Fender, its gonna last a really long time

This is an amazing amp for a practice amp. Doesn't get near loud enough for stage though. Effects and features are incredible. There's also 50 preset and you can make your own

Not bad, but no the best

The Spider III is a nice, compact, and easy to use amp; however, its not for live playing. It is a good one if you are just planning to record with it, but being it is only a 15 watt, it wimps out if you turn it up very loud and messes up the tone. I play a les paul through it, and it doesn't have the best tone to do the guitar justice. Its not bad for the price, but its a better starting amp than it is a professional live amp.

In 1993, Fender released the ‘Tweed’ series amps to great success and acclaim. The concept: what if a great old collectable 1950s Deluxe or Bassman was customized with channel switching and Reverb The Blues Deluxe and Blues DeVille were launched as vintage-styled tube amps with ’boutique’ tone at mass-produced prices, and many pro players in the rock, country, and blues fields used them with great results. After a few years, the Blues Deluxe and Blues DeVille were reborn as the Hot Rod Deluxe and Hot Rod DeVille, when they received modified circuitry, a third -More Drive channel, and Black/Silver cosmetic treatment. Though the Hot Rod series amps are more popular than ever today, increasing numbers of enthusiasts continue to request the warm tone, unique circuitry, features and look of the original versions. These ‘Reissue’ models will be offered in addition to the Hot Rods. The Blues Deluxe Reissue produces 40 watts into a single 12″ Special Design speaker by Eminence.

Great sound, NOT RELIABLE

Bought this amp earlier this year, and absolutely loved its rich tone. It is a versatile amp that has great clean sounds, and very nice dirty sounds.

I recommend this amp to a hobbyist, that won't have to rely (it for a gig. To anyone else, I recommend you go for a more tried and tested model.)
"Yes Virginia, it even sounds better than it looks! Blee Dat!"

Now this amp has the look that, well, has been copied over the years by numerous big-name amp makers. But who started it?

I am very happy to have spent the cash to get this amp. It's not too cheap though, you know, like 'did I really get my money's worth?' Spend enough to know you got something good.

Fender is still 'king o' the heap' when it comes to plain and simple well made stuff. Like always. I said it. Don't you forget it.

Dealer. Think dealer. That's where you get Fender support. It works.

Pignose G40V Guitar Combo Amplifier (40 Watts, 1×10 in.) vs. Fender FM25DSP Guitar Combo Amplifier (25 Watts, 1×10 in.)

Pignose G40V Guitar Combo Amplifier (40 Watts, 1×10 in.)

Pignose G40V Guitar Combo Amplifier (40 Watts, 1x10 in.)

The new Pignose G40V is a technical marvel that puts out a screaming conservatively rated 40 watts RMS through its own specially designed 10 in. speaker.

A truly pro amplifier, this little (14 x 9 x 17 in.) powerhouse features 2 – 6L6s, and 3 – 12AX7 tubes, 4 and 8 ohm output jacks, controls for volume, master volume, treble, mid, bass, and presence.

It’s perfect for the bedroom, but really shines when you “open it up.” It is capable of powering a 4 x 12 in. cabinet!

Pignose commissioned the world-renouned tube amp engineer and designer Dennis Kager to perfect this little monster, and it has been Field tested in clubs for 6 months to great acclaim.

The G40V is built like the time tested tube amps of the 60’s, but in a tiny package, like a stealth amp. They’ll laugh when you walk in with it, but they’ll become true believers when they hear it crank. Best of all, it has the classic Pignose look and solid reputation

The Pignose G40V is compact, pro quality, powerful, and affordable. The ultimate combination!

Right of the box, I hated the sound. But I was expecting too much. I used to own a Fender Super Champ which I foolishly sold to a friend with the promise that he will sell it back if he changes his mind. The dude traded the Champ for a stoopid made-in-Asia Dobro copy, because he wants to become a Blues player.

NOW THE MUSIC SHOP WANTS A SMALL RANSOME TO SELL MY OLD SUPER-CHAMP BACK TO ME.!!! I signed off of Fender amps permnently.

With only input, the only way to get good O/D is via pedals, and I got lots of those. The first course of action was to attach an external speaker cab and check it out. It sounded decent. Next, I start replacing the pre-amp tubes, with all the usual well-known brands. No luck. As fate would have it, I have an old, but broken down WEM (UK) tape echo. I pulled the pre-tubes (shield logo Mullards ecc-83), and plug them into the Pig.

Big surprise! The little guy came alive! The hum disappeared, and the tone controls became quite useful. Now this amp is a keeper. With my pedal-board #1(out of 4)..I punched in the Boss MT-2. Sweet. Next I tried the ML-2 Metal Core. It sounded so 'in-yer-face', that I immediately mic'd the little guy, and laid the rhythm tracks for my next song. The sound was nice, focussed, and present. Now if Pignose would put decent pres-tubes in this little mutha, it will be a killer recording amp.

Pignose G40V, a valve amp made in China, but supposedly designed by an gent called Kager. Cool. It is a 2004 model, 3 pre and two power tubes for a 40 watt mojo. This single channel amp is not shabby at all, especially for what I use it for, jamming and practice. No efectts loop, and the usual goodies, but I don't care for all that.

It looks reliable, but I won't take it to a gig. It hasn't broken down yet, but I am looking replacing the power tubes with something better.

I have been a permanent resident of the 'tone zone' for a few years, i.e, I own and run a nice 'home recording studio' (Malcolm Toft era Trident console and all the other cool audio tools). I have played thro' too many amps to recount, British, American, and Canadian. This one is just another 'lo-tech'(not so nasty) tube addition to the collection.

TonMeister K. (09/30/2007)

Even though it sounded OK with the stock MIC tubes and stock speaker,

I found the sound to be too flabby and and not pure enough for my taste. I removed the existing baffle and installed a 12" Special Design Fender Emenance out of a Fender hot Rod Deluxe. That was a vast improvement but not quite enough. I expermented with tubes until

I found the right combination for me. V1 is an EH 12AY7, V2 is EH 12AX7 and V3 is a Fender Red 12AX7(Sovtek) and the two Power tubes

are MIR (can't remember how to spell the name?). Anyway this accompolished the Fender type sound I was looking for. I have been using it reguar with my Hwy 1 Telecaster lately. I will rate it at it's original sound before modification.

Don't know the year it was made. I picked it up in a Pawn shop for a price I couldn't refuse. So I was familiar with the basic features

already discussed on previous reviews and had seen it in Musicain Friend. So it is just your basic tube amp with fender tone stack,

pre volume and master volume. I really like the way the two volumes work together on this amp. It allows you to set the sensitivity

for any normal size room. The tone stack tends to be bright and I have to turn the bass full up and the treble and middle at 9:00 or less to get my tone. Presence at about 10:00.

Haven't used it enough to determine. I work on tube amps so if it breaks, I will fix it.

I was attracted to this amp because it was a push/pull two 6L6 power

tubes in such a small package. This amp is actually smaller than

my DIY Champs I built that has 5 watts and the Pig has 40 watts.

The modifications I made on this amp made it sound like I was wanting to achive without moding the circuit. The amp is capable of producing some good tube amp sounds, the circuit design is good but the stock speaker and tube limit its ability to produce. The 12AX7 in the V1 position produces too much gain to get good clean head room. The EH 12AY7 in that position does wonders.
