Overpriced, but awesome

Yea…I bought the original version of this…before wayne messed with it. The one with emg 81/85s and the same badass pickguard. It was an excellent guitar, and had a hugely noticeable sound difference from my ibanez. The one thing about this guitar is its weight. The pickguard adds like 5 pounds to it. Its not really worth the looks. But if your only recording with it, or only doin 15 min- 1 hour gigs then it should be fine. And yea, on this you will want to trade in the stock pickup for an SH-8 Invader.

COOL GUITAR!

I was attracted to this guitar by its looks. The metal plate, black hardware and ebony neck look incredible. However, as hot as it looks it does not play or sound like it tought it would. The one single pick up is defiantely a turn off for me. Although it holds out really well and is loud and clear it does not offer many tonal possibilities. It is definately made to wail out Static X and Nu Metal sounds but that's pretty much it. The body is heavy and bulky, and the neck felt weird, for it starts off very thin at the nut then widens noticeably torwards the brige. After you go down past the 15th fret it gets harder to play scales and fast pulls/hammers. Overall it is a cool metal guitar if your want chunky sounds and killer looks

Great Buy

I own the 2550Z and this guitar is awesome. I received it in perfect condition without any flaws what so ever. It has an excellent tone and playability! The edge zero is perfect, with this setup it is easy to tune to drop anything without having to tune the other strings, as you would most other floating bridge setups! EXCELLENT GUITAR.

Ibanez RG2550Z

Have owned PRS, custom shop Fender, Gibson, and for the money one of the best guitars I have played on. Original pickups good, but will probably replace them. Tremelo is best on market and overall workmanship is great. This guitar outshines anything else in the price range and many above it…

Love it !!!

I own a recording studio and needed something that would dive-bomb and stay in tune. I looked at a lot of guitars and have always played Jackson. This guitar blows the Jackson away right out of the box! Talk about smooth playablity and fast neck action! This is my main axe now and I expect it will be for some time. Don't waste your money! If you want a great metal guitar on a budget… this is it! Not only does it sound great, it has the look of a more expensive guitar. I have been playing for 35+ years and I have never seen a better value for this price! Just get it!

It was a Great guitar

This was my very 1sy guitar I ever bought. I instantly fell instantly with it. Lately though the Floyd Rose has been messing up. Also The strings come out of tune every 1-2 weeks.

What's the difference?!

I've tried many guitars, and this one is almost the same as a regular Fender Strat!!! It plays well and stays in tune well. The pickups are work perfectly too! This is a very good guitar.

Anonymous Musician (Feb 26, 2009)
"Very good if you Mod it correctly."

At first glance ppl look at the headstock and decide its respect value which is silly. A guitar should be judged for by its playability and sound not the name on the headstock. People assume squire are rubbish but i tell you. My guitar is better than any fender i have ever played. And im not even lying. It still looks great with a few dents here and there. Mine is orange with black pickguard and it still looks as good as the day i got it.

Very good value. I really like this and even though the mods i made cost more than the guitar itself it was still a great purchase 7 years ago when i first started to play.

Very good for a budget guitar. It amazes me it has lasted 7 years. I have other guitars an Ibanez and Jackson and i still use this and in some ways prefer it. It was my first guitar and i am still in love with it.

Never needed any. But Fender are very very good.
