An ultra-fine layer of D’Addario’s exclusive EXP Coating is bonded to the 80/20 Bronze wrap wire which is then wound onto the hex-shaped core wire, resulting in a built-in barrier against corrosion and wear. Strings retain their inherent extra-bright tone and natural feel, yet last 3-4 times longer than traditional strings. These are D’Addario’s brightest-sounding extended play strings.

"Perfect Strings"

These strings will not easily rust, they never show dirt or grime and never flake.

The strings are a bit pricey, BUT you must realize that they pay for themselves around the 1st month you've had them. Because you don't have to change the strings, you're saving money.

The quality of the strings are extreemly high, as I stated before they have never slipped on me after first tuning. A capo will not cause need for re-tuning on these strings and they're very easy to put on your guitar, clearly labled and packaged.

I feel confident in using these strings on ANY of my future guitars, and they do make me have a bit more faith in the company.

Lovely tone. Deep bass, mids are clear and seperation is great, highs are sparkly without being too sharp. Dig in and it responds beautifully, especially with a flat pick. It projects well and is is very loud – deceptive for this slim body style. Altogether, this is the perfect tonal package as far as I'm concerned.

A functionally-appointed guitar with Indian rosewood back and sides, Adirondack (Red spruce) top and Ebony bridge/fingerboard. The Adirondack top is the twist to the tale, this type of spruce top was used mainly pre WWII and if you want a new guitar with that vintage pre-war sound and don't want to go to a custom shop, then take a look at this model – it's simply brilliant.

Action was set up really well, no buzzing, no cosmetic flaws, just great Martin build quality and craftsmanship.

Fantastic sound! Slap on a set of new Elixir's and it only improves the near perfect tonal qualities you get from this guitar. What it lacks in looks is made up for in sound.

This is the Limited Edition D-15 with all solid woods from Musician's Friend, although it's stamped as "Custom" inside the guitar.

Solid Sitka spruce top

Solid rosewood back and sides

Solid mahogany neck

Rosewood fingerboard and bridge

White Corian nut

Satin finish

Tortoise-color pickguard

D1 A-frame bracing pattern

Neck width at nut 1-11/16"

25-2/5" scale length

20 frets

Martin hardshell case

The guitar seems to be set-up to my liking right out of the case. The action and intonation are near perfect. I may replace the saddle with a bone one someday however.

This guitar isn't ornate at all. Tortoise binding and a single Rosette, that's it. The Satin finish is perfect without any flaws whatsoever. The Rosewood smelled wonderful the moment I opened the case.

Limited Lifetime Warranty. Never had to deal with them. Hopefully never will.

Fell apart

Maybe I'm tough on guitars, but this guitar didn't last long. Within two years, a large crack developed from the bridge to the bottom. The neck warped considerably as well, so now I have very high action near the nut and a ton of fret buzz at the other end. On the other hand, it was cheap, got me started playing acoustic and looked great. I would recommend that you get somebody to make sure it is setup correctly if you buy it.

Good Quality Starter

I got this guitar as a gift and I normally play electric guitars. I did enjoy the quality of the guitar and found it fairly easy to play and the tone of the guitar was amazing. I did replace the strings with a lighter string set that had a lower action as the ones that came on the guitar had a medium-high action which was a little harder to play Blues and Jazz. Over all this is an awesome guitar that stays in tune I think I have only had to tune it twice and that was because I went from standard tuning to drop D tuning. If you want a lot of clarity and deep bass then get this guitar.

Excellent Guitar but Buyer Beware!

The Taylor 214 is the best guitar you can buy for the money, and then some. It is very nearly a perfect instrument with heart-breaking sound and feel, and gorgeous looks. However, be advised: you are not getting the solid sapele back and sides or the ebony appointments; instead, you will get a beautiful LAMINATE rosewood back and sides and rosewood appointments (see specs on 214e). I still love this guitar but, "Caveat Emptor!"

Amazing instrument

I did a lot of research before buying this guitar. I'm a college student, so I don't have a whole lot of money to begin with. I went down to the local music store and started messing around with the acoustics and found this one. I was using a Dean TSCE, a cheap acoustic guitar, and I loved it. This was my first major guitar purchase, and I have to say it is AMAZING. The sound is perfect. When I say perfect, I mean that this guitar sings. When you play you can actually feel the sound coming out of it. The neck is amazing, I have small hands and I can easily play F bar chords (something I had trouble with until recently and on all of my previous acoustics). I've been playing 6 years and I have to say this is the best investment I have made.
<p>Perfect for anyone who is looking to buy a mid-price range guitar that has amazing tone and a beautiful body.

Epiphone DR-200S

I have just received two of these guitars that I ordered for friends of mine. I have several much more expensive acoustic guitars myself. Overall I think them of exceptional build quality. There is however one caveat: They both came with extremely high action. (Im am a very experienced player and have done a lot of set-up on guitars and I know what players want. If chords played in the 1st position are out of tune because of the increased pull down to the frets, the action is too high.) I assume they are this way so that individuals can set the action where they want and some may want them high like this, but you should be aware that you'll probably have to spend some additional money to get them set up properly. Having said that, they are still great values, even after the set-up fee is added on.

This is a nice guitar. It is definitely one of the better in it's price range. Though I am a bassist, I bought this guitar a couple of years ago to fiddle around with. This is a wonderful guitar and I would recommend it.
